• Kayak Trip Report, Bradford on Redstone Arsenal

    Fished Bradford again from 6:30AM till about 12:30PM spider rigging. Fished were scattered 24 to 48 inches deep on bait schools. The best bait was the 1/16oz Hot Skirt jig in blue and white. I kept a limit. The water was 85 degrees at daylight and had warmed to 88 by 12:30PM.

      Nice crappie. I never though that I would be reading a fishing report from Redstone Arsenal 40 years after being there for first time.....my last tour there was in 1980. Most of the lakes and ponds we used to fish are now off limits due to environmental concerns. Had some great times there. Was a game warden there for two months until they decided what to do with me after my school.....brings back a lot of good memories.
