• Why Crappie.com

If anyone thinks running Crappie.com is easy, they are truly mistaken. We have 40k members, 130 forums and receive millions of page views per month. We have over 90 moderators that help keep the individual forums clean, and 9 super moderators that keep an eye across all the forums. Additionally, it's a big active site and requires lots of computing resources and server/software maintenance as well. And every now and then I get thank you letters like the one below which lets me know that all this effort is very well worth while.

Crappie.com is a rare entity on the Internet these days. Its a Family Friendly website that does not tolerate personal attacks or for that matter, anything a child should not see. And I ask all of you to help keep it that way. Please post only family friendly content, and also report any posts that do not fit our criteria (there is a little triangle below every post to report it). Thank you so much for being part of our slice of the Internet, and by all means please help pass the word to others about our wonderful little community.

And if you want to know more about what Crappie.com is all about, take a look at yesterdays article I posted on the home page about Michigan Crappie Camp: http://www.crappie.com/crappie/conte...15-lots-O-pics

Thank you Jeff for allowing me to share your letter above. If anyone would like to help support Crappie.com you can do so here: http://www.crappie.com/crappie/payments.php

Slab, you have a wonderful site and i think all CDC members appreciate what you do for it and all the hard work that you put in and the many hours it takes to run the site. I would like to thank you personally but in closing i would like to mention you are still a Guber !

If it weren't for crappie.com, we wouldn't have met so many wonderful people from all over the U.S. Paul and I have made so many friends that feel like family here and we are blessed!

Jeff has spoken the way so many of us feel, and Vonna's comment is spot on as well. I consider so many as friends that I have never met. Thank You Slab, you make us all smile- and that aint easy!!

What Skeetbum said. I have enjoyed the Crappie.com experienct and family for a number of years, and don't expect to tol eave it any time soon. CDC has given me a reason (not that I needed one) to get together with my Dad a couple time of year at the Slabfests. It has been a joy to be able to do that. Thanks Slab.

Maybe one day I could be a Guber.

This site is the first and only one I've ever been a member of and as long as I can still see my keyboard, I'll participate. Thanks Ed for producing a

quality product and a place to hang out and gather and share knowledge of the crappie fishing game. Thanks for a job well done by all the moderators

and others behind the scenes that make this site a habit for many participants. I'm addicted now and can only find relief while fishing.

Great place to meet new friends and learn little bit about all aspects of Crappie Fishing. One site I visit every night just to read the post. Often post about fishing lakes and where the fish are biting. Always try to be helpful to other fellow Crappie Fishermen.

Life wouldn't be the same for me without CDC daily. Been a member quite a few years and last year, out of 40K members, I was awarded the JMMA CDC award. So proud and humbled to receive this. I've always tried to help the site in any way possible and will continue to introduce as many new people as I can to the site. I've met some very good people here that I now call my family, not just friends. I've had the opportunity to fish with members from PA, Ohio, KY, and TN all thru this site. Met members from IL, IA, IN, MS, MN, MISSORI, and even FL. Thanks Ed for putting all these people in my life. No way i'd have met them without CDC.

Thanks to crappie.com I have several new friends who have become fishing partners. Not only do I read the Florida thread frequently I'm looking for good info and tips from other southern state threads as well. A good thing can become routine and often taken for granted. If something happened that would take crappie.com away I can only imagine the huge void it would leave in the crappie fishing community. 'What an asset we all have and should appreciate.
