My self and Crappie Greg have been catching the fire out of some crappie on Dardanelle the last few weeks. Fish have been staging in brush 7-12 feet deep and are around brush. Find the brush and most likely you can catch a few. We are vertical jigging 1/8th or 1/4 oz heads and just about anything white and chart or bright colors will get ya bit. Fish seem to be scattered all over, but we did not find anything with allot of numbers. We noticed we would catch them within 15-20 min's and then the bite would go dead...So off to a new brush pile we would go. It was a blast fishing with the Central Arkansas Crappie Association tourney today. Everybody caught fish and I got to watch two young lady's fish a Crappie Tourney today with their fathers and win some nice prizes. Good times by all. I will let Jason Westerberg post the results for you all. Big Congrat's to the winning team of Dustin Harris and Kelley Graham who set a New Club Record of 15.57, and a big round of applause to all that participated today. Tight Lines.
Nice slabs!!! Always wanted to go down for a crappie trip and I see they have great color!!! Water must be really clean? I've been thinking of doing the big 3 but not to fond of the muddy water and the pale looking Croppie that come out of the big three!!! Congrats! Great picture! There's nothing like the memories of a good fishing trip!!!
