My parents spend the winter in Astor every year and they've done pretty good with 32 two pound crappie in the boat so far.

The best part? Every 2 pound plus fish was released to get even bigger! I was able to go down in January and lucked into the first 2# catch of the year. We ended up with 3 big ones that day on Dexter.

My mom with the biggest of the year, 2# 12oz

And dad with number 32 from this morning.

They were nice fish,we went down to Crescent Lake in late Jan meaning to stay at least one month, I made a mistake by taking some one with and fishing was bad compared to past years he didn't catch any I didn't really care I just wanted to miss the cold weather in Tenn two weeks in he said he's ready to go home,we rode around and eat lunch in Astor I had planed on staying at Astor landing but we stayed at Leonards landing in stead tried to get him to go farther sound he answer was I been there, this Dec we are going back maybe to Astor it's a neat area.
