That is crappie.com member "Shuorc" at the far right. I fish with him on Lake Griffin regularly. He only looks that way cause he wasn't able to fish that morning. Normally when you see him on the water he's all smiles.
That's Dan in the middle of that picture and Dan's fishing partner Garrett Steele to the left. Garrett is a country singer and entertainer, and an all around great guy. I had a lot of fun fishing the Crappie Masters Media Day event at Tavares with him and Dan.
This picture was taken the day before the media event. I went fishing that morning on Lake Griffin and was surprised to see Dan on the water doing some pre-fishing there.
It was a beautiful morning on the day of the media event, albeit a little foggy, but the fog was certain to burn off quickly.
We caught a couple small crappie, then this hit. This kitty cat weighed 8 pounds and tied up 2 other rods, but at least we were able to get it in and not mess up all eight. That woulda been a nightmare.
We had a great day and caught some nice crappie. Dan Spider rigs off the front of the boat with 8 rods using Bobby Garland soft-plastic baits on jigs tipped with minnows. I asked Dan how he was first attracted to crappie fishing and the following video was his response. I told him I was videoing only afterwards. He does real well on camera, even when he does not know he's being recorded. lol
Garmin is one of Dan's sponsors, and I have to tell you, they are some real quality products. I was very impressed.
Take a look at Dan's presentation about the Garmin units below:
Dan has a great new rig too. It's a new wrap for both his truck and boat.
I was able to sneak a crappie.com decal onto his truck without him knowing. Can you see it! j/k, he had me put two on his truck and two on his boat. Thanks Dan Dan, you da man. Glad to have you as part of the Crappie.com family.
