Bundle up and hit the water. The trick to fishing cold weather is patience, water depth, and color. We had a good week of slabs catching fifteen fish in the 14-16" range over three days and ending up with 60 plus fish of quality. They were deep , at times I would cast a 1/16 jig head with a chartruese and black and let it sink 25 count before slow reeling through the strike zone. As the day warmed up and the sun reached noon we moved to a pearl salt and pepper split tail. And wore them out with a fifteen count.

Also I was teaching a kid to fish. Not only fish but to clean as well, he struggled with the cleaning process but enjoyed it and learned a lottoday. What a blessing to get to work with a young man who is learning and growing in life.

End result of a good fishing trip. Good food, fellowship and just a good all round day!!!

Like that fryer, is it homemade and does it have temp control where it shuts on and off, nice fish also.
