One week at Crescent

We arrived at Crescent on 1/16 around lunch time. After we unpacked and settled in, we launched the boat and took off fishing.

On Saturday, we participated in The Slabtogether and really enjoyed seeing everyone that was there and meeting Ron Presley and Billbob.

Sunday thru Thursday the bite was a little slow but we caught some quality Crescent Lake fish. Our biggest was 2.71 lbs. Mostly, I fished with Talquin Maggie.

I spent one morning with Anchor Man in the boat with me and he put me on 4 2+ lb fish that day. I fished a couple of days with my best friend of 34 years and he had a phenomenal week of catching some large crappie. Our accommodations were excellent and the weather was pretty good for the most part, but the wind seemed to find us about half of the time we were there. We enjoyed going to Corky Bells with Vic and Eileen Tuesday night for dinner. Because of the CrappieUSA tournament, I ran into many friends from GA and FL so it was enjoyable being out on the lake with people I knew to share stories and info with. Here are a few pics..............

We found them. Here are a few over 2 lbs that were released.

And everywhere I went, this boat kept showing up!!!!

Looking forward to my next week long trip at Crescent!!!!!

Those are some awesome fish, i liked the release of them big fish to make more crappie for another day and another generation of all our grand kids.

Great article. Love the release of the larger crappie, beautiful fish too... Looks like a great time was had by all

We all like to catch big fish, so why not share with other folks. In my opinion, a big fish is good for 3 things....Photograph(then release), Tournaments (then release and/or a wall mount or get the measurements and have a replica made (then release). Releasing bigger fish gives others a better chance to catch it again and feel what others like me have felt. Keep some 10"-13" fish for eaters. They all eat the same....Did I mention that I believe in releasing bigger fish????

We are at Leonard's landing in our motor home boats in the water why all the wind going out in the morning how many rods can you have out one guy here in the campground fishes by his self out of a pond toon boat has 19 rods how can one keep up with that he said he use,s two 5 gallon buckets as drift socks to slow down his boat that's a new one on me

I'm with ya on the releasing of the bigger fish Tim. We have been practicing that for many years and I feel good about doing it. I only wish others would follow our lead.
