Na, it doesn't matter. Look a the saltwater guys who catch fish that weigh more than your riding mower. They don't have a problem with either. The fish don't know what kind of eye you have on your hooks. They don't know if it's snelled or knotted.
My circle hook are straight eyed, and I tie knots all the time on them. You've seen the fish I catch. They don't seem to even know that it's a straight eye hook with a knot.
