The water is down and many of these are exposed....think these are put out for "hoggin, noodlin", etc. for catfish. Anyone know for sure?

I think you are right. Noodling.

Think that's a nesting bin for catfish. I've seen them in ponds but have no idea how they work

You can have the noodling. I am not putting my hand in a hole I can not see in to find out whats in there. To many turtles, snakes.

You are probably correct as some put out hollow logs, wooden boxes , tires , and such for Catfish to get in for hogging or noodling as it's called.

It is for noodling. I do a lot of it in Oklahoma. We have used 55 gallon drums, tires, bath tubs, Culvert Pipe, basically anything that has a hole or you can cut a hole in it and allow for the big fish to get in in and hide to spawn. Its a blast!!!

Around here they call it 'grabbling". Even have Grabbling Tournaments on the Big 4.
