    Default How big

I have make up 10 jugs so far and went out and caught 2 fish. Only fish about 4 hours that day. I was using some left over crappie minnows and hot dogs. What I am needing to know is what size of minnows are better for cat fishing? Do I need to kill(cut up)them before fishing with them? I think the minnows I was using where about 2" to 3" long. Im not to sure i understand how to use cut bait. Could someone show me a picture of how they hook there minnows or cut bait in there hooks.
    Thanks gin

Gin, it depend on what your fishing for and what size. If you are chasing channels, just about anything will do. Hotdogs, night crawlers, Large minnows, shiners, marinaded chicken breast, catalpa worms, small goldfish, frozen shrimp...ect.

If you are talking about Blues and flathead up to the biggest that you can catch. I like using live and cut baits. Live baits: log perch, sungrannys(pumpinseed) 3inch mud cats, creek chubs, shad and the dark bluegills. Cut baits: any of the ones mentioned but only their heads with guts intacked. Here are some pic that may help.
