I have several containers of Secret 7, I only seem to get nibblers on it. I have tried the tubes with J hooks. tubes with circle hooks, and treble/furry thang combos and seem to catch very few fish but get LOTS of nibbles. Switch to cut bait or shrimp and don't get nearly as many nibbles but the fish that hit it I usually catch. Am I doing something wrong or does the stink baits attract smaller fish (too small to be hooked). I always carry several types of bait, and change them out when they don't produce. Saturday night I had the nibblers on liver but caught fish on shrimp. Go figure??

Decided to fish the Madison classic the last of june. Got my boat prepared, caught some bait and froze it. Packed my clothes and headed down to the motel. Spent two days scouting the river since it was my first time on the Ohio (didn't put a line in either day. Day of tourament, pulled one of my bags of cut bait out of the freezer and headed for the lauch area. After take off, went to my first stretch to driff. Plulled out my bag of bait and found that I had picked a bag of filet catfish that I froze so that I could pull the day that I was throwing away my trash.

Problem, in a tournament, 1 mile away from ramp, could not leave boat, cast net in truck, what am I going to do for bait. I then remembered that I had bought a jar of dip bait at wally world a few month before. Found it, changed my hooks and began fishing.

First was a 2-3 lb channel, the next my pole was almost jerked out of the holder. I was my first blue channel which wieghted 16lbs.

For the two day total, I ended up with 62lbs. Placed 24th out of 74 boats. Not bad for my first tournament, catfish, in 50 years.

Dip bait acceptance by the fish, is like cut and fresh bait. Same as colors with fish somedays. You need to be able to present my products to see what they preffer.

That's why they call it fishing. Makes it more fun.

Good luck and thanks for sharing.

Dad and I went out. I prepared special chicken-livers & shrimp, marinated in garlic salt for him, about $15. He caught two fish.

    I used Walmart Sticky-Bait (about $4), & caught a twenty or so...

You tell me which works. All fish were less than 16in.

Jeremy and Bleecher did fish it. They beat me by 3 lbs. Great experience. Great group of fishermen, just like those of CC. I don't like crappie fishing in IN in the summer, so I rig my boat for catfish. I am going to KY lake next month for a get together of catfishermen. Looks like a lot of information will be shared. You should come. I have a camp site reserved, but I am not going to use it. If you want to share, come on. Just need it to park.

Jeremy was going to speak on drifting, had a sick spell and had to use his vacation time.
