my rods are 2 piece 9ft spinning diawa surf rods they have a long really comfortable small handle about as big around as a nickel maybe a tiny bigger i got a great deal on 6 so thats what i bought the handles were just the slick blank so i added rod wraps and they turned out really nice
the reels are Penn bait feeder spinning i love them because you can really adjust the drag on the back of the reel so you can set the line out it dosent affect the fight drag thats on the front of the reel its really sensitive so it takes hardly nothing to pull the bait feeder out so those really shy carp dont feel resistance from the reel at all and drop it i got the medium sized ones and they match up perfect with those rods and loaded with bearings also mine have i believe 11 and 1 roller they are smooth as silk
as for line i just spooled the main spool with 15 pound fluorocarbon and the extra back up spool with 30# Cajun red advantage for when im gonna fish a place with a lot of cover so i can hoss them in i also use 20# fluorocarbon leaders and 50# braid leaders with the Cajun red
i only use no roll sinkers for carp and flathead catfish i make my own so i usually have them and fun to make also i hate how bad those other sinkers like bank and barrel sinkers don't stay where you cast them power swivels super small in size but they are cheap they are tiny compared to those big brass ones and 50 times stronger i use small hooks no bigger than a #1 even for big carp remember their mouths are rather small compared to something like a crappie of a flathead catfish lol my favorite go to rig is a simple Carolina type rig with Palomar knots
so anyone who loves to carp fish lets hear your rigs and ways you like to fish i know this is a crappie site but with these other topics open lets get some movement on these boards i know im not the only one who enjoys catching them big ole carp when were not doing some sort of other fishing
