It depends on what exact kind of axles you have. Some do push out the old grease and they work well. EZ Lube is the most common hub of this type. You normally jack the trailer up and spin the tire while adding grease.
Others retain the grease under a slight pressure to prevent water intrusion. This type doesn't push the old grease out and over-greasing can damage the seals.
