Still working on the wiring.

Your wiring job looks awful professional , mine looks like crap covered with black electrical tape!:yikes
Thanks. I'm on the wiring pro staff:Rofl
All I gotta say is "do whatever it takes to make it work without setting something on fire.
At one point today I had so much junk laying in the boat, it was like reading a find Waldo book to locate anything I needed. I finally got far enough along I just cleaned up and went to the lake to see if what I had done so far would work.
So far, I have only a few things that I will need to lick my calf over on. I like the Minnkota mka 47 mount. There is no slop in it and there is one thumb screw holding it in the run position. Loosening the thumb screw allows the motor to be slid back or even removed in a matter of 30 seconds or less. The thieves should love it except that minnkota thoughtfully built it so it can be locked on.
The Terrova 55 is just barely adequate for a boat this size, so it's gotta go. I had to run it on 6 to get up to crank bait speed which was probably eating up some battery big time. The 55 on the War eagle 542 (which will also be up for sale) would pull all day long on one Walmart battery.
Loading the boat was a little better today. Good thing cause it was slightly crowded at the ramp.
Here are more pics. The rod holders will be the next project.

Looking good!!!!
Sonar pic from today. Looks like the sensitivity could roll down just a dab. I think the aliens have been making crop circles or creating some kind of art on the bottom of the lake.

I like the lights around the dance floor!!!!!lol
After the other rig, it feels like a fellow would have room to dance. I thought the lights would put off a little romantic glow if the fish ain't biting. Beside monday will be 30 years for Carol and I. Romantic lights, side by side seating, 30 year anniversary, there may not be much fish being caught even if they are biting.:biggrin
She has to be a great woman to put up with you for that long. Congrats
Looking really great, Good job.
You will be back fishing pretty quick!!!!!! Lol
Looking good Randall. (the boat)
Love those lights, dude! I don't believe I've seen those on a boat before. Did you think that up? Nice job, and thanks for keeping us posted. Can't wait to see the "on the water" pics!
No, the lights were not original. The first I saw was on this board and some guy did it with a kayak. I started looking around on the board and found several others doing the same thing. There is a pretty good thread on the Missouri (I think), board. Lots of times fishing after work, we end up rolling up the lines in the dark. I think this will really help. Looking to start on the rod holders next. I do have an idea on those. Going to use the drift masters to start with and work from there. I've got one thing to fix on the front sonar mount. I don't think it will take long to do that.
I'm ignoring Boar Busters comments:Rofl
Thanks to the rest of ya'll
Went back and found the big led thread. It is the cranking 101 thread of led lights. On the Georgia forum

BTW, happy 30th! That's quite an accomplishment.
Did some field testing on the installed equipment. Double seats seem to work real fine.

I saw a man in a blue jumpsuit fishing off the bank and hauling them in regular like, so I asked him if I could take some of his fish for a boat ride. He thought they would enjoy it so he said go ahead. Actually I just wanted to borrow his fish to check out the live well. It seemed to work ok.
Attachment 132625
Since I had the man's fish, I thought he wouldn't mind one pic beside the boat.

It was a fun day of field testing. Now back to the job of setting this rig up so it will catch a fish. I'm beginning to think it has some real potential.
RCC -- Congrats on the anniversary! You are doing a great job on the boat.
I wanna be just like you randall.... When i grow up
Back on the boat job. This week was getting the legal stuff done. License and registration are all taken care of. I saw Gomer Snerds boat in a pic and I really liked his lettering so I pm'd him and used a similar idea and had letters done. Thanks.
Attachment 133175
I also added a double seat set up to use if I want to get way forward.
Attachment 133176
and I worked on the rod holders. Here is a pic checking for fit and seeing if the adjustments will work. I will be able to adjust from way forward on the bow all the way around to the sides with this set up. Another nice feature is NO HOLES! It is very solid. Of course, some hi-teks or cumberland 360's would be the bomb, but those driftmasters have helped put lots of fish in our boat and are an easy fix for now.

Another build just like the above for the starboard side and a little finishing touch here and there and we will be ready to fish it and add as we go along. We did take it for a short time mid day monday and were able to put some crappie in the boat. It seems like it will be a very good fit for us.
Sweet! Very innovative.
And the starboard side is done. Just anotherrrrrrrrrr trip for more bolts, and the rod holders will be done except for a little grinding and some paint and other cosmetics.
Attachment 133192
Carol, why have you got 5 holders on your side and I only have 4? I know you usually fish 6 or 8 by yourself while I fish 2. I bet you think you would have been bored with only 4. And why is this funky thing on the side of the boat? Investigation is in order.
Attachment 133193
Don't know if the transport holders will work out, but I thought I would give it a try. Just getting some measurements and trying to make sure they miss seats and that lids will open.
Attachment 133262
Those letters look a lot better than mine. Hope Mr. Greenjeans likes them.
Great job, Randall! :ThumbsUp Keep us posted. Can't wait to see the "on the water" pics!
To save batteries, I'm installing a sail on this rig to try to get up to crankbait speed without using electricity. I guess it's my attempt at going "green".:biggrin
Attachment 133457
Worked on the transport holders. They will lock when I get finished. This should transport about 12 poles. I need to find end caps that will fit a 3/4 square tube and a 2 inch tube.
Attachment 133458Attachment 133459
Damn brother you didn't need a fishing boat you needed a project. Hats off!!!! I will say this is the most custom and impressive rig I have seen. Keeper going and can't wait too see the next post!!!!
Looks good , I would have used the pink ones though!!! Lol!! You just about ready to hit the lake looks to me like!!
Don't get cheap now !!!!!!
Now u need to add some steps to get in and out of the boat. I know you got it in ya. :)
I guess I'm gonna need to break down and spend $1.20 cents on black pipe insulation. By the time I count the $.75 I have in the pool noodles, you're talking about almost 2 bucks to fix it maybe more counting taxes...I just don't know if it will be worth it:Rofl
Handi, I've got it in me, but my tools are kinda limited. Everything I've done has been with basic hand tools and working in the yard. I guess I need to get it over to my brothers shop and see what kinda tools he's got. Steps sure would be nice. At this point I need to do some finish work on a few things like painting the nuts and ends of the exposed bolts. I've also got some clean up in some unexposed areas that I want to finish as well. It is fun to work on, but not as fun as fishing.
