Default Looking at some BnM rods

I am just getting into crappie fishing, and most of my bass fishing rigs are not really suited. I am looking at some BnM rods to get started. I know the shooter 6 is popular as is the TCB. I have alreay grabbed a Sam Heaton Super Sensitive 7'. Going to drive through west point MS tomorrow, and thinking about stopping at BnM to pick up a couple rods. Is the Godwin cast worth looking at, or just stick with the shooter and TCB?

The Godwin cast is very pretty but I don’t like its feel at all and it’s on the heavy side for me almost bought two of them but glad I didn’t . The one I have has been setting in the garage after the first trip out with it. If at all possible put a rod in your hands to see how it feels to you before you purchase you will be money ahead for sure.

Thanks for the insight on that one. It was not on the top of my list, I will probably get the tcb and shooter. I’ve been wanting an excuse to get an ultra lite.

If you have the time get a feel for a bunch of different models. I like my TCBs and my Russ Bailey 10 footers. Sorry I’m late to respond.

My wife bought me the TCB combo, rod and reel. Love it. Casts small jigs a mile, super light, and just feels good. Sunday fishing a 1/16oz jig and snagged. Swung front of boat around and snag started swimmin. After quite a spell I put a 15lb flathead in the boat. The rig handled it flawlessly. Thanks BnM.

that’s impressive! I picked up a TCB, Sam’s 7, and a shooter 6. Got a great deal on some Diawas for each. My son and I caught 8 crappie with them yesterday

    IMHO, I like the TCB.

If you go longer, like a 12-14 ft dipping rod, the BGJP is tough as nails. It takes a little getting used to cause it is super flexible, but it's tough as nails. I've pushed many a jig off snags with mine.
