What's your favorite rod to use?

I don't think I have a favorite rod. I don't care to pay for expenssive rods. Picked up and handled a few and can't tell the difference between them and similar rods. I think my most used rod is an OkumaCE-S 602UL FOR 1-4# line and I use 2# line on it. Have a Shakespere, Berkley Cherrywood and coupke other's I also like. Well, must be my Okuma as I never let anyone borrow it!

I have an Okuma two piece 5' rod CE-S-502UL-1. Rated for 1-4 pound line ans I have SOS 2# on the reel.

I have never fished an expensive rod. The brands I have used the most??? Shakespear and BnM. So them, I recon.

Bonehead 7 one pc
Dobyns 6 one pc
Allstar 56 one pc
Ozark trail 56 one pc
They all cast well in my opinion in the right situations , but I prefer the 7s for long range casts and hooksets
In tight quarters the Dobyns 6 is my go to next
The other short rods are mostly dock rods , but cast as well as the others
I gauge the rod lengths and sizes to match the potential fish sizes and spots I hit
I always have a very definitive plan when I step out of my vehicle in pursuit of them crappie fish

From what I read on different sites, not maany people plan much. have read a bit about what rod to get for catfish and seem's obvious to me the rod will depend on a number of thing. Like the size of fish your after especially. A bullhead is a catfish but a 2# one is huge and does not require the same equipment as a 100# blue you might be looking for. I was happy to see you put that little bit in there. My lightest UK spinning rod will work fine on bullheads. But if I wass targeting fish over about 30# the rod for me would be my sturgeon rod! Everything else my round level winds.

I went redfish and speckled trout fishing in LA and the guide had some sarge custom rods and a few bucoo. He used the bucoo bc clients were breaking his $250 rods. I really liked the bucoo and so did he, and he thought they were a good value at $100. Where you getting them for $50??

I have been using this Falcon Bucoo (6ft.) spinning rod lately and it has become a favorite. This rod being $50 is super affordable too.

Sorry my first reply above didn't respond directly to your OP. Where are you able to find these for only $50? That's a steal, they're normally $100 or more
