    Default Losing My touch!

Thats what it felt like today, after a long week of work, I slipped over to My honey hole on the way home, this is a private lake that always, always yields a few LMB, and after getting skunked last Sunday fishing for Crappie I needed a confidence builder.
The water was cloudy but not real bad, but I decided to throw a Black with glitter Rage Craw on a shakey head, had one nibble, thought maybe I needed to change colors, so I texas rigged a natural color Rage craw, still no takers. Now My confindence bass bait has always been a small tube, but the past couple years Ive been trying to force myself to use other bass gettin plastics, but I had to go back to what I know always works for Me..... a Strike King Bitsy tube, in Pumpkin green with sparkles, on a 1/16oz Owner weighted tube hook. Well I started getting attention right away, but I had 7 bass either spit it right when I was going to set the hook, or jump and spit it, I could of swore one of the jumping Bass gave Me the finger when he spit it!!!! so I shuffled back to My truck wondering if I may have lost my touch, or they just where still kind of lathargic from the Winter, either way it has me second guessing My abilitys tonight!

I know the feeling, been out four times myself so far targeting everything from crappie to smallmouth bass. Been skunked each time out except for the last one. Tried 3 different spots before settling on one of my honey holes. Tried everything I could think of that "should" work in colder water with nothing. Decided to throw on my confidence bait and on the first cast landed a 14" smallmouth. Had 3 other hits but couldn't get the hook set.

At least I got the no fish skunk off my back, even if that was the only fish of the day. You'll shake the skunk next time out!

Yeah, You know We caught fish every time it would not be the same, the hunt is what makes the game so fun. Crappie fishing will always be my favorite, but I cant resist bass fishing this time of year. Im going out Sunday Crappie fishing the water will be muddy but they should be on the move here in Ohio, hopefully I can re stock the freezer.
