With My Crappie bite tapering off last thurs evening with only 7 keeper crappies and only 3 keepers the next morning by 10:00 AM on Conway. I decided I would go home take a rest and try catting this weekend. Went to Overcup and Beaverfork lakes let me tell ya these lakes got some cats in em. All caught on poles with chicken livers and cut shad. The one on the table was caught on overcup with a liver 27 lbs, she hit at 1:20 AM with a violent slam on the rod that scared me to death and just about made me jump right out of the boat, while I looked away for just a second, as a bullfrog sounded off. I was fishing coves and right up against the bank with livers and cut shad on both lakes. The big fish struck a pole I always throw out away from the bank towards the middle of the cove in deeper water. Man I love that catfishing with a rod at night and the sudden violent slam of that rod bending over. :D CP

Was that a bite? Forgot what they feel like!
Good catch CP. I like catfishing in the daylight over baited holes when Nimrod is down. Hate the bugs at night myself.![]()
