Thread: Off Topic Help, Little Rock Area!!!!!

So basically from S of 630 to E of 430 to N of 30 is not the place to be. There's kind of a circled area there on those.

Now i just need some input on apartment/duplex names. I have looked up some under the yellowpages, but can't seem to find a website for most. Really hard to get an idea and don't really want to waste our time looking for something that is run down or doesn't have very good management. This is a one day trip and our time will be limited. We will have a time frame of about 11 am to 7 pm to look around. It will be about a 3 hr drive for us.

Guys you have been really great with the help and any more info is greatly appreciated. It is really hard to fine something in an area you are not fimiliar with at all. I have only pasted thru Little Rock on I-40 and that is it.

Plus once we get him settled in do you guys mind if an neighboring Okie comes over and takes a few of your crappie some time.

I was a transplant from Tucson Arizona 25 years ago. Trust me, Little Rock isn't that bad.

Benton is a great place to live, just 25 miles straight down I-30. I grew up there and when I was in the job market, I worked in Little Rock.

Benton, Cabot and Conway are the top three surrounding towns, last I heard. The Benton traffic pattern is gonna be better than either Conway's or Cabot's.

The west side of town is a good bet, as well. I really liked living in Plantation Acres when I was in that area. It's rural but not more than 15 minutes from downtown.

I'd suggest you come on down and spend a few days going about the city before you let others decide for you. Little Rock is a great place to work. But I prefer to live out of the city and away from the crime scene.

For my 2 cents worth, Maumelle should fit what you're looking for. Very low crime rate, lots closer to Little Rock than Cabot or Benton or Conway. While I don't have the names of the apartments handy there are several complexes in the vicinity that are relatively new. One that comes to mind that, while technically not in Maumelle, is located near the Wal-Mart Supercenter on Maumelle Boulevard in North Little Rock. It is just before you reach the Maumelle City limits if you come in from I-430. It's one of those that has it's own golf course if that is of any interest. There is also one relatively new complex in Maumelle that sits next to Lake Willastein that looks pretty good. There are several others in Maumelle too that might be of interest. Hope this, in addition to the other suggestions that have been posted, help you find what you are looking for. Good luck.

Maumelle is a bedroom community north of Little Rock proper, but with only 1 bridge to cross to get back and forth. Traffic can be heavy, but the area is a snug little area.

This is the same route one would take to get to Conway. Mayflower is a small community between Maumelle and Conway, on I-40. Its on the south side of Lake Conway.

Scott is a nice little town on the east side of North Little Rock, with great access to several areas on the Arkansas river, and also a nice little lake called Willow Beach Lake.

Southwest Little Rock, while blessed with lots of fine blue collar folks, is also unfortunately riddled with pockets of crime and drugs.

The medical center area, near the UAMS campus is quite nice and central to everything. I live a bit more west, but not on the west side of I-430.

Hey You would be very happy with Searcy. Schools are number 3 in the state. Crime stats are among the lowest in the state and the community is very very based in christianity.

Well we made the trip down to Little Rock today and what a long day it was. Found out after getting there that the job hasn't even came open yet, but will be opening very shortly. Things seemed to go alright with the son and he said they will hire by the end of June or first of July.

Made the trips to most of the suggested places and as it stands right now Maumelle has it hands down. They offer allot of new apartments in the area and it seems as if it is a growing community. Both of us liked it very well, but of course I won't be the one living there when and if it happens. Now I guess it's just a waiting game to see what comes about.
