Hey Creek. Sorry to hear about you and others losing your stuff. You just can't get much lower than a thief in my opinion. What lake do you have your boat on? I heard about a problem recently on Lake Norfork.

Got a call today from the Marina where I have pontoon boat stored. They said someone had broken in all the lockers at the dock and suggested I come up to check if I had anything missing. When I got there I could tell the locks had been cut off my rod boxes. They stole everything. 8 Wally Marshall Trolling Rods with linecounter reels, 4 Pflueger 6725 reels with ultra light rods, 6 Abu Garica 500 with ultra light rods, all my Bandit crankbaits(125 more or less), Humminbird 797 ci SI. So if anyone hears of someone that has some of this gear for sale please let me know. I am not the only one that got hit they hit every boat. Anything they could steal they did. I don't think there are many people that have 18' Wally Marshall rods with linecounter reels on them so maybe they will show up in a Pawn Shop somewhere. So for the time being I am out of the fishing business. I know it is just STUFF but it sure make you mad. I can replace my things but there was an oler gentleman from Memphis that was crying saying he had saved his whole live to have his fishing equipment and now it is all gone. I hope these dogs are caught.

That is a story that any and all fishermen hate to read! I sincerely hope you had good boat insurance. When I bought my pontoon last November, I had intentions of renting a slip at Shangri-La on Ouachita. My insurance man said, "Well then, you will need me sooner or later, no matter where you store your boat." With that, I decided to trailer my rig back and forth. Thank the Lord I only live 15 miles from the water so it's really not so bad after all.
18-footers, eh? I use 14-footers myself. I tried to buy another one last week at BPS abut they were out of 'em because of a $10.00 off sale they were having. But they DID have the 18-footers available. I have enough of a time with the 14-footers...but I LIKES 'em.
Wishing you the best in your recovery, bud. I really hate to read about low-lifes that take advantage of folks like that. <><

Hey Creek, sorry to hear about your loss. I have a toon at Heber Springs Marina and so far have been lucky. Thieves are lazy and not too smart so maybe they'll slip up and pawn or sell something that gets recognized soon...I'll put out the word.
Gotta love it!
I hate to hear that...We kept a ski boat at Choctaw for 4-5 years until the theivery got unbearable. I had a friend loose an entire pontoon boat from the same dock. He found it beached a few days latter and of course the motor was gone... My friend was a retired policeman and talked with the owner of the marina who's exact response was, "Dang, sorry about that."
Our boat was on a lift with a cover on the boat and on the dock where you had to go around the office to get to it. The lift kept the boat very high and you almost had to let air out of the tanks to get into it. Over the years we lost two innertubes, several batteries, ski ropes, knee boards, life jackets, coolers...you name it. The last time it happened I went to the office and complained to the lady working and her response was.."You must have alot of really nice stuff" I told her to hand me my extra keys hanging on the peg board behind her and I moved my boat.
Most of the nicer marinas have gates with coded access from the shore. Someone could still get your stuff from the water, but I would imagine that any marina would be better than Choctaw.
Sorry to hear about your loss Slick, that reminds me of the tragic times I got robbed, First time a thief broke into my car trunk when I was 18 years old while I was fishing on the bank stole two of my best rods and my old six tray Plastic Plano tackle box stuffed full tackle in broad daylight. At 18 years old about every thing I owned was in that tacklebox. Next time was when I was 35 years old broke into my garage and stole a bigger and even more expensive tackle box stuffed full and about eight of my best Crappie and bass rods, I often think about all the fish and memorys I had with that tackle, and the most recent time was when I was 46 years, 48 now, they stole my 12 jonboat right out of my yard. I loved that little boat and I think about all the crappies I caught out of it, in the creeks and in lake Conway over the years. Each time the SOB'S stole a little bit of my fishing heart and memorys. I hate thiefs and I feel your pain. CP

I hate to hear this Creek. A thief is the lowest of the low in my opinion. If those rods make it to SE Ark I'll try to spot them. I use the same rigs here for cranks so they'll stick out like a sore thumb. Sorry for your loss.
From the ARK-LA-MISS Delta....... Crappie Paradise ! ! ! !
Check and recheck the pawn shops. Same thing happened in our area. Rods and reels eventually hit the pawn shop and the owners saw them. Gear was recovered plus the thieves were arrested............
