woo...you're gonna make me buy some worms instead of rosies next time I see Dano! It's been a long time since I got on a shellcracker hotspot, but I can certainly remember it being an absolute blast. Do you ever here any good reports on the gravel bed across from Paradise landing? That's about the only place that I've bream fished on the lake. Now...I gotta figure out a way to slo-troll for bream!

Ceb it's been along time since i heard anything about that area, but yes it's probly a good place to probe if your hunting these. This time of year We fish the main lake coves with pieces of Nightcrawlers, crickets, wax worm on a small light wire blue hook or tip a small 1/80 oz jig. below a bobber 1-2 feet deep, bumble bee dynomax jig silver tensil, 1/100 oz hair jig tipped with niblet also work. Keep moving un til you find the bed anchor down and let em have it. If you launch at pierce creek and fish the coves to the left and AGFC boat house area is noted for good catches and the coves accross from the ramp. ALso the cove bank along the Eagles Camp ground at the mouth of Caney Creek has produced some coolers full for us. Dix creek is also another place to check out. Main thing is keep working the cove banks until you catch one, Catch one then your probly in for some fun. Hope this help you and fetmo out. Fetmo yes bates field and stream and dano's have maps im pretty sure and they are good ones. CP

    CP,

Man you have brought back some good memories!!

I grew up in NLR (left for Texas in 1974) and used to rent a boat and sculling paddle at Paradise and get after those redears. My dad always called them "improved bream".

Can't tell you how many times I've sat on a bed and caught em til the ice chest was full. Fight like crazy and eat good too!!

    Thanks for the memory!

Thanks for the advice CP, I just might find me a couple of main lake coves to try one afternoon this week...that's if the crappie are playing hard to get.
