My dad and I went today as well. Went over to Choctaw and caught about two dozen by the island. Most were medium to small sized. No big boys. Also caught two largemouth bass. Good day of fishing with the old man.

Didn't get to go yesterday, but it sure looked like a good day. I guese the fish didn't think so. Was hoping to go late this afternoon but looking at the weather radar I think I will stay home. Don't get discouraged, the big ones are not through yet. They will be back.

Question for Slick, what area of Greers did you fish yesterday? Where do you normally get your minnows. Seems like there is not a real good source anywhere around the lake on the northwestern end.
If the good Lord is willing and the creeks dont rise I'll catch a slab today.

I fish the Hill Creek area. As far as minnows I buy mine in Batesville before I leave. The only place I know of in the town of Greers Ferry is Razorback grocery store.

I fished up Devil's Fork yesterday. Caught a few crappie, and several whites and blacks. I was trolling roadrunners w/minnows. Fish Greers so seldom that I feel lost when I hit the water. Still prefer the Natural Lakes.

Thanks for reply, haven't fished HC for crappie that much, but have sure had some good luck catfishing that area. Have tried Razorback a couple times and was not happy with quality or quanity. Also noted on a different thread that a shiney hinney was mentioned. Have not seen one, is that a small crank bait? Went to Bass Pro web site but could not find anything listed there. Have you seen them. Thanks again for response.

Shiney Hinney is a jig. Silver chennile, chartreus hair. Been around awhile. I'm getting old---could be wrong about the colors.

They come in two colors that I know of. Red/silver and chartruese/silver. I bought some the other day but did not try them Saturday.
