    Default Connerly bayou crappie (pics)

I took vacation days Wed, Thur, and today to get in some fishing before the cold this weekend. My brother and I went to Connerly bayou and had some pretty good fishing. Wed, we fished all day and caught 28, Thur. we caught 29 pretty good fish. I went back today by myself with the prediction of bad weather, and fished until 1:30 in rain and some large hail and the wind turned northerly about noon. I ended up with 13 today. It rained pretty hard on Connerly, but I don't know if it will muddy up or not, it does get muddy this time of the year with field runoff.

    Wed. catch 28 crappie

    Thursdays catch 29 crappie

    Today catch 13 crappie

Had a good time on the water with my brother.

Good looking fish Jerry. I went today. No rain, but wind was pretty bad. Thought they would really tear it up before the front but boy was I wrong. Didn't even get a bite. I wasn't alone. Talked to several other people who didn't get any bites either. Didn't even see one fish caught in over 3 1/2 hrs....

    Jerry,

I'll have to say, if you fished Connerly today then "that's a crappie fisherman" folks! I worked in Chicot County this morning and got hailed on twice in two hours. Had to stop the car and wait on the side of the road both times. Once I thought the hail was going to bust the windshield. The rain was so hard I couldn't see 30 feet in front of the car. I don't mind fishin in the rain...but hail and tornado weather is sumptin else! But anyway, way to go Jerry. I know it had to be fun if you were catchin Crappie!!!

Steve, that was the largest hail I've ever been in, over an inch in diameter. I put my coat over my head to protect it, large hail is very loud in an aluminum boat.:D

Jerry that is dedication, I was going to fish Greers tomorrow but the weatherman says we are going to get an inch of rain tonight and 1-3 inches of snow tomorrow. So I think I will stay warm and dry at the house.

I didn't go fishing today, too cold and windy after fishing 3 days in tee shirt weather. Boy it sure can change this time of year. Supposed to get back to 70's by middle of the week, I can feel some more vacation time coming. Got to get'em while they're hot. Here's a picture of what I used on those bayou crappie.

    Default Not a good day.

L.A, stayed over at the camp last night and it was tough fishing today. The wind never slowed down below 15 miles an hour and it was coming straight down Ditch and Connerly. Fished a few tops deep but I caught all my fish about 15 foot off the bank around tops at about 3 foot deep. Black, chartruese with a red head. I only brought home 10 and I stopped fishing @2 I'm tired of fighting the wind. I'm going back Monday morning, maybe the wind will die down by then.

Welcome to the board Arkdrakehunter, glad to have another member from S.E. Arkansas. I've been catching them out from the bank also around underwater structure. Look forward to your posts and reports, and if you see me on the water give me a holler. I'm in a Wareagle boat with Crappie.com stickers on the side.
