    I do not use a transom saver. I tried one without much success and then read on the package that the saver is only meant for motors with power tilt/trim. Mine now stays in the down position, with enough clearance unless I hit a major grade such as pulling into a gas station...but I just avoid those places...:D

    I have one myself. Wouldnt haul this boat without it. Its all preference I guess but I know in my situation its adding years to my transom.

    I don't have power trim and tilt and wouldn't go out without a transom saver. I've sure had to pay for a whole lot less welding since I started using one, and my boat is at least 20 years old.
