If you're looking for standing timber to fish in the spring, Millwood would be the place. Just got to find them in the 30,000 acres. Yes, March will be pre-spawn for the whites but blacks will be spawning. Just depends on the weather warming the water. Blacks will spawn in the lower 60's and whites will spawn in the upper 60's.
Here on Greeson we don't have any standing timber, but we have set nearly 100 megamats and bamboo laydowns - FISH HABITAT - During that time of year we will be fishing staging beds and pitching jigs and minnows in the shallow bank areas. Depending on the water level the megamats and bamboo laydowns will be the shallow cover or in higher water they will be the staging beds and the banks will be flooded and you pitch around tree laydowns, willows and buckbrush.
