I was on some rough water Sat. and had my life jacket on. I reached down and wrapped my kill cord around my wrist. This may or may not have worked.
Thanks for posting what happened to you and I'am glad that you survived your ordeal. This should be a lesson to all of us just how easily things can go bad on a fishing trip. Leave that kill cord hooked to the life vest and that way when you put the vest on to run the big motor your ready to go. Just remember if the big motor won't crank check to see that the kill cord switch didn't get pulled. Happened to me twice over the years.
I don't follow these rules all the time myself either. But his experience has sure made me think about using my boat more safely.
