    Default moro bay

I'm new to the area and was wondering if anyone has some information about moro bay on the river below hermitage. Is this a good crappie fishing body of water? Also, I'm not sure if I spelled moro correctly.

I haven't fish for crappie at Moro bay, but have heard that the river and the oxbows near there has some good crappie fishing. Hope to try it out someday.

    A bad day of fishing
beats a good day at work.

Thanks Stumpjumper. I was thinking about the bridge pilings for winter crappie. What do you think?

Bridge pilings are one of my favorite structures to fish, I'd definately give them a try.

moro bay can be great at times, depending on what the river is doing. right now its falling 1ft+ a day. should be back to normal in about a week. the bridge over raymond lake is usually a good spot. if i remember right its about 20ft deep there. the bridge over the river itself can be good when the current isnt too bad. there are several oxbows off the river that are great at times too. eagle, green, perogeethe are all nearby and are great and usually uncrowded. the river and lakes between calion and felsenthal is my "home lake" so i'd be glad to help you out if i can or show you some spots sometime

I have heard of all these places, but never fished them. Hopefully when I get retard I will have more time to fish more places. Thanks for the info, and I may holler at you for some specific info on these fishing holes sometimes.

LA, if you have to be a retard to fish more places then I should qualify:D I've fished Moro Bay several times in the last 10 years. I've mostly bass fished there with a local bass club, but have crappie fished it a few. Done well in Raymond Lake and in the bay itself by the ramp. One time while fishing a bass tounament, a club member came to weigh in with a livewell full of crappie he said that he caught out of the river channel. It was during the summer when there was minimal flow on it. Hope this helps a little, good luck!
