    Jeff, I appreciate those kind words. I really enjoyed fishing with you and your son that day and if anything I said or showed you helps on LM then I am just glad to help out. I look forward to fishing with you again soon when the weather is more cooperative and the crappie are jumping in the boat!

    Creekslick,

    I am sorry I should have been more clear about the cranks. I meant I was letting the weights hit the bottom then giving the spinning reel three full cranks (about 60 inches for these reels) before putting the rods in the holders. With the jigs about 18 inches below the weights that would put them about 40-45 inches off the bottom (hopefully right over the tops of their heads). I have tried trolling crankbaits a couple of times on LM the past couple of weeks when the wind was too bad to do much of anything else but no luck with them right now. That should pick up with the prespawn when they begin scattering and are more active.. Steve
