    I don't know much about fish finders, but I bought and installed a 565. Is this a good fish finder for a beginner?

    got one of the 500 series with the GPS and dual beam. I love it.

    Thanks LRJoe1. The 565 does not have the GPS, but it does have the dual 20/60 degree beam. Now I just have to learn how to set it up and use it.

    Real good unit very good at showing bottom structures and very good at showing schools of bait fish have one on the front of my boat like it a lot

    I had two 565s on last boat and now have 2 on current boat. Very good unit.

    I agree with Danny. Best unit i have ever seen for looking at the bait fish with the "bigger fish" showing up around it. The structure shows up very well.

    I have one with a single 20 beam on my bow. I like it a lot. I chose this set up so I could concentrate on that one little twig that might hold a fish.
