FM, It's good to see you still have a sense of humor.

Keep smilin brother, You are gonna be alright.

Between the theft of you wife and the theft of your CC crappie I will bet you are glad to see the year 2008 behind you. Hope you weren't heavily invested in the stock market too, lol.

It seems as though you are trying to single out certain people with these comments. Is it your beliefs that people who keep crappie from out-of-state are "unsportsman" or is it that anyone who keeps crappie is "unsportsman"? I've eaten quite a few Louisiana-born crappie, so I guess I'm guilty of both. I believe you should consult "the large majority of Sportsmen" before you make comments of their behalf. Ethically, Markham did nothing wrong from my view...
No Ceb, Markum and I are friends and I know for sure, without a doubt that he could really care less about what I think or say.

There are always a lot of readers that don't post and don't think like the rest of us. Today there were almost 1500 views on this thread. Very few of them reply to posts and sometimes guys will get the wrong idea. You can bet on it! That was who I was speaking to.

I place a high value on large Crappie. Its a fact. It makes me a little uneasy to see those fish taken away and I don't even live in Arkansas. I admit it. Maybe I'm the only one on the planet that feels that way. Call me crazy or worse.

However there ARE others who feel the same way but my never say so on this forum for obvious reasons. I just don't want 'em to cut MY trailer tires. I'm on their side! Don Stamper

Hey Don, that's why I questioned your post on this thread...if you wanted to make these statements to the general public, I believe that it could have used its own thread rather than a reply to this one. I do, however, find it hilarious that you are more worried about the feelings of people who do not post rather than the ones that do...

Like we've all said, it is a special lake with special crappie. And trust me, if it could be fished out...it would've already happened...there is no tellin' how many 2.5lb+ crappie have went under the knife.

I'd like to see you tell that to some of the regulars out at the CC boat ramp. Maybe we shouldn't even be allowed to fish it?:D

No hard feelings or hate mail. I understand your frustrations, but you should also understand the tone behind your initial post. Take care Don.

Someone taking a couple dozen crappies to improve his stock isn't a drop in the bucket for the lake. The pressure on a lake like CC is much greater from locals that take fish home for the table. Even that though isn't what effects a lakes population. Lake conditions, management, predators, and foreign species that effect spawning are a much greater threat than fishing pressure. If people would simply harvest average fish and return the monsters to the lake the lakes trophy population and quality spawning results would continue. If I were in control of fish management at CC I would implement a slot limit with one trophy fish over the slot allowed per day unless the population of monsters is just so impressive that they need to be thinned. I seriously doubt there are any lakes that have that problem though.
Good things come to those who bait.

Because sometimes its the hardest and worst things in life we have to be able to laugh at or it would all just be too much to handle. So let um take your fish, but hold tight to that wife. :D

I know you didn't want sympathy, so let me offer you my wife. She don't like me anymore anyway. Where do you want me to send her?

The only dang thing that irks me about all this is I havent been there to get my three pounder yet. No seriously, if the guy was within the law, properly licensed and all more power to him. The money he spent on the trip ,licenses and all, should go towards making our fishing better with restocking and etc. No it will not replace those three pounders right away but I look at fish as a renewable resource. Its game and fish, and us who have to make sure rhese places arent lost. I will say this though if you arent licensed or come up here disrespecting the place you are not welcome. I dont pretend to speak foranyone but myself as a proud resident of this state for 20 years now. Anyhow thats my two cents worth and last i checked my two cents had lost value!

In addition, I met fishermen from several other states that also released everything other than something they intended to have mounted.

It would be easy to justify by saying " he bought the license and fished within the law". True enough however it is my belief that a guest should show respect and restraint when visiting other states. The large majority of Sportsmen will agree.

Thank you for sharing your great state!

Don, I don't get you. You make post like this and then come back and make another post on the same thread basically saying "No, that is not what I said"
You seem to talk bad about people who keep fish (especially if it is a limit) but then you keep a limit and release them into the pond by your house. Is what Markham doing NOT THE SAME?!
If you keep fish and eat them OR if you keep fish and release them in an area that ONLY a select few can catch them is this not close to the same?
I agree with CEB that I would be more worried about people who actually post than worrying about the ones that don't.
    Just my 2 cents.

Hey Markham, my 2 sister in laws are both single again And you know you are always welcome at my house if you want to come down and do some salt water fishing.
