Just to chime in to help. I was able to get my 21', 96" wide bay boat around pretty easy. You shouldn't have any problem with a 17'er. Just go slow no matter the size of your boat.

I have a 17.5' champion boat with a ninty horse mercury aluminum and I was wondering if cc is an approciate place to take and fish effectively in cc.
I would like to find a time to meet up with you and my wife and I could enjoy some fishing with you.
You can contact me at [email protected].
Any advice would be appreciated.

You shouldn't have any problem with that boat, just watch out for stumps on the way out to the standing timber. After you get into the standing timber you'll be alright.
A bad day of fishing
beats a good day at work.

Where's the best ramp, boys? I have not been there in many years but I can see making a trip in the spring.

When you say aluminum do you mean your prop?? I don't know about the rest of you but I wouldn't take an aluminum prop on a lake like that. I'm thinking its alot like millwood. I would find a well beat up or broke in stainless. An aluminum if it hits something can easily shear a blade and you won't be able to use it....and if you do you take a chance of hurting your prop shaft bearings due to the unbalanced condition...will shake the snot out of your boat. I know most guys that run millwood carry a spare but have a stainless on...because if you do tap that stump you will not shear a blade off...just maybe bend it bit or scuff it real good. Just my opinion. And like the others said..go slow.
