Went to Horseshoe. Brisk south wind, hard to fish. Froze out early.

Was that you there in Bear Creek? I had friends of the marina manager with me and we ended up with 12. So cold I didn't even take a picture. Took me a while that afternoon the thaw out!

Me and Crappie Dentist went. Typhoon style winds a blowin, really cut into our choices of fishing areas. They have drained Oologah down to do some riprap work and most of my favorite spots were just too shallow to be holding any fish. The lack of water even created a launching/loading problem for us.

Darryl..no I don't think that was us...we never went up into bear creek. Well we tried...and it got shallow quick and decided to just go elsewhere...probably could've hugged the shore on the west bank but just turned out. Actually had to shut her down quick once. I think we saw you..or Jerry...we never could tell which. We were up around Kirby landing all day...fishing up and down the banks on condos. There would've been two up front...one in the back...blue Ranger 373V with a big fat Johnny on the back. LOL. And yeah...IT WAS COLD!! And agrihawg was right in another post when he said....just enough to stink the greese...thats what it did...I ate all of them last night...lol.

Yeah, that was you. Should have drifted by and said hi. That back there where the water is real shallow we call the "bay of bear creek." But all of that water from the bay to Kirby and on to the main body is Bear Creek. See you next time you're on the water.

Well, I took to Ouachita today and it was fairly slow for me. Wound up with four crappie; a 14.5, 12, 11, and a 10.5--all blacks. Also caught a 3 lb lm.

While fishing, I met a threesome trolling shiners with planer boards. They had out six lines and they were trolling super slow. When I asked if they had any luck the gladly showed me their stringer of EIGHT stripers, going anywhere from 10 to 16-17 pounds. That's a bunch o' meat fans!
