    Default Quest for 3 lber

continues. I went deer hunting this morning, big mistake, should have been on the water. A great day for fishing, cloudy and just before a front. Anyway I got to the lake at about 12:30 pm and started fishing with some rosie reds under a cork. My buddy Steve and his partner trolled over to my boat and asked if I had my scales. I said sure, did you catch a good'un, he said he had a couple. Well to add insult to injury, I weighed 6 or 7 crappie around 3 lbs. His best 5 averaged 3 lbs. He had 2 at 2 lb. 14 oz. and 2 at 3lb. 1oz. and the biggest was 3 lb. 2 oz. That's 5 crappie that weighed 15 lbs. At least I know what a 3 lber looks like.

Here is Steve holding 2 fish totalling 6 lb. 3oz. When I grow up I want to be able to catch fish like Steve. :D

Well I fished the rest of the afternoon and caught 1 and lost 1 good'un, the one I caught wasn't but 2lb 12oz. I released it before I left to play another day.

    My catch for today.

    Releasing her to fight again.

    Today's sunset.

It was fun being out on the lake, maybe the 3lber next time.

    A bad day of fishing
beats a good day at work.

MAN!! I think I need to follow you around. Great looking catch!!

You know, I always say when I'm not catching..."I just really love being in the outdoors" :p gets a chuckle, but seriously...you would have to be crazy not to want to be on the water when the sun sets like that. An afternoon like that will really make all the little things that bug us so often and the big things that just won't go away seem a bit farther away in our minds...if not for only a short time. We are lucky to live in such a beautiful state with such an abundance of nature.

    GREAT PICS!! Thanks for sharing!!
