    Default SE Arkansas report

Well, ended up making a last minute trip with the wife to the in-laws. Didn't leave LR until 5pm on Friday, so figured that I'd make the most of the trip and take some yo-yo's to run out at Cane Creek Friday night. Caught 3 while I was trying to get them out, but the action came to a screechin' hault after that. Ended up staying out there until 11:30 without any more action, so I went on to the house. Got back up at 4:30 to go run and pull 'em. Had about half a dozen fish on. Just figured that I'd take my sweet time packin' the yo-yo's in and just made my way down the line. Ended up coming to a yo-yo with a fish on...didn't really notice anything special about it but that it wasn't sticking out of the water very much. Got the light on it and bout had an MI. Got the net under her and just looked at her for a moment. She was a thing of beauty under the lights of my headlamp. Got her on the scales and she weighed in at 3lb 2oz. I didn't know how long she had been out of water, but she seemed pretty lively so I stuck her in the livewell. Morning went on by and ended up seeing Jerry (la stumpjumper) and another member, Lucky, out there shortly after daylight. We fished for a little while Saturday morning, but this fish weren't doing anything. I checked on the big ol' sow in the livewell and she seemed to be doing well. After Jerry snapped a few pics of her, I released her back for another day. And it won't be too long before I'm back out there 'cuz the big 'uns are starting to move in. Packed it in at 9:30 and headed elsewhere.

Decided to go head over to Morgan Point. By then the wind had gotten pretty stout, and was blowing from the worst direction possible for the place that I wanted to fish. After catching 1 dink crappie and at least 20 yellow bass, I had enough. Stopped by the coal pile on my way back in. The wind was howling through there as well. Ended up catching 2 crappie out there in the whitecaps. The wind was almost the worst that I have fished in. I was draggin' both chains and had to put the TM in reverse on the next to highest setting just to slow down. All in all, it was a pretty good day. And now for a few pics...

    Sunrise on Cane Creek...

    3lb 2oz...

And here she is goin' back home...

And just for kicks, I snapped a quick pic of one of Goocher's pets. If you look close, you can see a slight resemblence...
