    Cool Lake Lee

I'm planning on taking my father to Lake Lee this spring. Any info as to the best time to go in the spring, places to stay and any info on the lake would be appreciated.

If you are talking about Lake Lee in Mississippi, there are several places to stay at Lake Washington, which is a few miles from there. The Miss River levels pretty well determine the fishing conditions on Lake Lee. Look on Mississippi Outfitters web site for info.

Thanks rockmike. I'm not sure if it's AR or MS. My father's hometown is Greenville, MS. He just talked of fond memories of Lake Lee. I live in TX and am trying to find out as much info as I can. I believe it's in MS though. He probably would have told me it was in AR, but everything I search about Lake Lee leads me to AR. Thanks again.

If he is from Greenville, The lake is just a few miles south of Greenville. Roy's Store (662-827-2588) has cabins, bait, and camping spots for RV's.

    rockmike,

Thanks for the info. This is just what I needed. I'll give the store a call and see what's up normally with the fishing in April.

    Thanks again

I drove by Lee Lake this weekend on my way back from Lake Washington. The water looked very good but I did not have time to fish it. If you have a RV one of the cleanest and best campgrounds in the U.S. is the Leroy Perkins Campground which is about 6 miles from either Washington or Lee (it's in-between). Lee is a great lake for Crappie. If the water is not right you can always fish Lake Washington which is a fantastic Crappie lake.

I was not able to generate a whole lot of action Sat on Washington. I wound up with 15 keepers out of 27 fish caught. I fished till 2:00 pm. A couple of friends had been there on Friday and kept 40 nice ones trolling from one boat with 6 rods using solid pink Bobby Garlands and black/white blood squirts on Roadrunners. They said the bites were just in patches. The cold front had them scattered. I want to go back this weekend but it is opening day of the deer hunt and I am obligated. I am still trying to figure out a way to get back over there though without being missed too much. For info on both Lee and Washington click on this site: Mississippi Outfitters
then click on public waters at the top right of the page....then just click on the lake.......

    luvpt,

Thanks so much for your reply. I've stayed at Leroy Percy before and really enjoyed it. I think I'll make that the plan to stay there. In your opinion, is it best to come in March or April? Do you and rockmike also hang out on the MS forum? Thanks for all the help fellas!! This gets me on the right track. :D

If it were me I would shoot for late March or early April. I read the MS forum but have not posted there yet.
