I have 4 Okuma line counter reels and 2 Cabelas and I think it make a world of difference. When I first started pulling cranks in June, I just used some medium size spinning reels and would cast as far as I could but it was never the same distance. The line counter reels lets you go back to the same distance and depth every time you reel in. Which is a lot when you troll submerged timber. Also try several difference colors until you find the one they like on that day and it seems to change every day.
