We were at Quachita back in 90 I believe for a Crappiethon USA championship and found a similar pattern. We were on the Southwest end of the lake and found a point that had grass growing within about 8 foot under the surface. We had what we call up North a good walleye chop and drifted across the top of the point. We caught some nice fish up to 2 pounds as they would come up put of the weeds and tag our baits. The tournament day the wind laid and we used the trolling motor to pull across the same weed bed the problem though the water was too clear and they werent as willing to come up and hit a bait.We ended up pulling off the point anchoring up and tail hook our minnows on a slip bobber,Then we pitched them to the edge of the weedline and theyd start to swim towards the weeds for cover.the crappie bailed out of the weed edge and smoked the minnows.Beautiful lake and country down there.PJ
