Just wanted to let you know that there is a big FLW Bass tournament on the lake this weekend and it will be crazy there with the boats.
Just thought you might like to know..

Greetings to all Arkansas members. I am a member from Louisiana (Shreveport). I was thinking about taking a trip to Hot Springs this weekend. Is Lake Hamilton a good lake to fish for crappie this time of year?

If you send Darryl Morris or Jerry Blake a PM, you may get some info. My suggestion would be to drive 30 miles from Hot Springs and fish/stay at Lake Greeson. It is very nice and well kept.

crappie are slow right now on Hamilton. I went last weekend on Saturday and caught three crappie in about five hours. the bream are excellent but usually are small until you find a bed of bigger fish then they average eight to ten inches with an occasional eleven incher.
I live about 3 miles from Carpenter Dam. 'Hamilton will be nuts through the weekend. Maybe a bunch of the fish will be scared down to Lake Catherine!
I'm fishing next week some, likely Ouachita or Nimrod.

Definately Greeson if you are going to drive that far. If not, stop off at Lake White Oak outside of Camden. I hear the crappie are doing really well there, but have not ventured down that way due to work. <sigh>
