Default New Member Needs Info On Millwood

I was told about this site by a friend of mine, and after reading some of the posts, decided to join. I am heading to Lake Millwood in Ashdown this coming weekend. This is my first trip down there, but I have seen some of the crappie that come out of there. One word...HUGE! We are staying at Yarbrough Landing and we only have two days to fish it. Any information or tips that could help put us on crappie would be greatly appreciated.

Find green cypress trees in water 4' or less. Minnows on a slip cork were really working this last weekend. Any water in this pattern will work. Mostly males being caught right now and they are slabs. Females should be moving this week into shallows.

Caught a few yesterday evening around green cypress trees, fishing about 5 feet deep, water about 8 feet deep, pink and white jig tipped with crappie nibblet. Catfish were biting real good on livers, if the crappie give you fits. Good luck.

Guys thanks for the report. I feel like I already have a headstart on a cooler full of those big slabs. Maybe that pattern will hold til the weekend. We will be frying up some fillets from the eastern side of the state, probably saturday night, if ya'll get hungry. They might look like fish crumbs to ya'll, but they will be good!
