    Default 1st Attempt at Crankin

Here's a picture of my 1st Attempt at Crankin at Greers Ferry

I was somewhat handicapped as my outboard did not cooperate, so I was limited to the trolling motor.

The fastest I could run was 2 mph.

I am wondering if I could have went faster if maybe my luck would have been better.

I also caught about 15 bass about 9-12". Threw them back.

I was marking a lot of shad 15 ft and deeper.

Water temp was about 75 F

Wish I woulda caught more but...

All in all I was happy to catch any since this was my first try at crankin

It was a good learning experience

I have had alot better luck (for crappie) only doing .6 to .8 MPH, higher than that and you get white bass and others. Good Luck

You had a bunch of fun and have discovered 'country club' fishin' at its best--especially when nothin'else will bring 'em in.

Great photos. Slow down. TM is perfect for trollin' 300s for crappie. You're gonna get addicted. I just started this technique this summer and it is loads of fun--even at night.
