I had one several years ago and used it for Bass fishing. I personally did not think that it was worth the money at that time. The price may be lowerr now though. It would get you in the ball park about color but it really did not tell me anything that I did not already know. It would get you in the park as far as light or dark but that was about it. Keep in mind that the technology might be better now.

I have one and it seems to be ok. Its pretty close in clear water. What I have a problem with is the water dingy or dirty. It seems to be everybodys on judgement. I got mine at BPS 2 yrs ago 89.00.

average about 30 bucks on ebay. Fished a tourney once with a guy that had one. He said in clear water it always went to blue.

I have one. Once, several years ago, during February I think, it proved helpful. Since then, not much.

I used one in bass tourneys for years and the thing was really fairly accurate but you have to check it several times a day as the sun changes once we were fishing under docks i knew held fish and we couldnt get them to hit.
we had made the mistake of droping the selector on the outside in the sun but once droped in the shade under the dock it gave the right color the fish would hit. so sometimes it is the way people use it more than the fault of the unit.

Very good point, On what I have read on the net it recommends to check it often and if there are any changes in the water such as sunlight or clarity of the water. I had forgotten bout that, thanks a bunch
