Weather channel calls for 8 days without rain and temps in the low 70s.
What will that do for fishing Beaver oh say Monday April 24th?
I'm keeping a close eye because I'm coming down on May 2nd for a week or so.
Looking good Jason! We checked Greeson out today and with the high, muddy water, high winds and post-front conditions we couldn't find a crappie that wanted a boat ride anywhere.
They were going to start generating some today at noon and then start around-the-clock generating on Sunday so it should start coming down and clearing up soon.
We're going to check on the trout and walleye below Ouachita in the morning - we need to catch SOMETHING!There might even be a crappie or two hanging around. It's the only water I know of anywhere around here that isn't high and muddy.
With our lakes still going over the spillways here it's bad. We were catching some below the dam. Now the COE keeps changing the water and the low temps are going to be in the 30's ! What's next ?
Yesterday I only kept 2 Crappie and a Bass. Would replant the garden where it washed out . But now we may get frost ! Thought about Turkey hunting this weekend till the forecast said windy and cold. What's a guy to do ? Type on the computor and wait for better days ?![]()

We had a pretty good time this morning doing a little trout fishing:
It wasn't crappie but the action was pretty good. We were pulling #5 Orange Crawdad Shadraps into the current just fast enough to keep the boat moving forward or just holding in place. In about two and a half hours we hooked over 25 trout and kept our limit of 5-each.
Thank you CharlieK for putting us on some fish and showing us how to get-r-done!
There are some walleye in the same area but we didn't land any. We had a couple fish on that we thought were walleye including one that broke Grubby off when he set the hook.
It will give us something to do while Greeson is messed up. There are some crappie a little ways down the river but we didn't have any success at finding them. The wind was really bad so we didn't try some of the places we would have liked to.
The water looks nice behind you guys! If it has gills it will work anywhere in the south central U.S. after all the flooding!
Tight Lines!
