Thread: Report from the Big Maumelle

Fished the old river channel below Lake Maumelle on Saturday. First time I have been out there this year. I expected to find them on the banks but ended up finding them suspended out in the open water. Fished most of the day and ended up with 10 keepers. Probably threw back twice that many dinks. The tails on the males looked like they had been fanning beds, but I didn't catch a single one on the banks. I guess the cold front pushed them all out of the shallow water. I sure wish this weather would make its mind up and stabilize one way or the other!

Thanks for the report. I have some freinds that live at the yaucht club that catch them occasionally up that way. I always had an interest in learning the river above the club.
