I came up to Springfield, MO today and I like to have never got here. There were roads closed on the way up through Harrison and the rain was unreal! The Buffalo River was really roaring, let alone all the other creeks that now appear to look like mini Arkansas Rivers. It took me almost 6 hours to get here from Little Rock. I may have to take a boat to get back home....

Well....It looked like it rained like crazy out in Oklahoma also. I am sure that the Arkansas river will be on the rise again soon, and I am sure the white will be outrageously high before long.

You are right!! I just got an email from the liner service that brings us barges. They haven't got things ligned out from last week's rain and now they are officially shut down again. Dardnell pool is running at 308000 CFS. Small craft advisories go out at 60000. Don't even think about putting in on the river for a few weeks.

Will do. Mid April will be outstanding (if we don't get any more monsoons!).

Nimrod rising fast! The Fouche la Fave River which feeds it is on a rampage! Some roads in the county are underwater and school is closed. Guess this going to be a year that is great for the fish not the fishermen. We could have a huge spawn if the water stays up long.:D

I went to the Monte-NE launch ramp to check things out and it was roped off and completly flooded! The lake is very brown!

I wonder how many other Beaver ramps are even open now? Its been a long time since Beaver has seen this much water. Years ago maybe 15 or more, I remember it muddied up all the way below point 5. Made for some great (unusual) shallow water bass fishing on the lower end of the lake. Fished alone from daylight til dark (second day of heavy rains) out in the lightning, thunderstorms, high winds, heavy rain, caught 37 largemouth and spotted bass, several from 3 to 6 pounds on a white spinnerbait with silver willow leaf and 3 inch white mister twister. Don`t have it in me anymore, this time just sat and watched it rain looking out thru a window! Lightning and graphite rods don`t sound too appealing anymore. Neither does wearing a rainsuit hood up all day, cold withered hands, bilge pump running the whole time, wet feet! Getting soft I reckon! If the lake stays very high up in the green bushes all spring, fishing may stink.

Made for good memories though! If Beaver is poor for crappie fishing with the high muddy water, I may concentrate on fishing Leatherwood. I saw pictures of the War-Eagle mill yesterday and the water was up to the bridge and the mill had 3' of stading water on the first floor!
