Thread: beaver fork lake

I was driving pst beaver fork Saturday afternoon and saw some folks wade fishing in a ditch/creek on the northside of it, I am guessing it was the spillway. Any ideas if they are catching anything?

I haven't fished below the spillway but I talked to a guy that had been fishing it almost every day for 2 weeks...he said he was catching lots of crappie (some times on almost every cast) along the grass but they were almost all real small 4"-5". He said he didnt care they were small he just liked being able to catch so many. I also saw some people fishing across the road on the west side but have no idea how they were doing or what size they might be catching. I did go last Monday and fished below the spillway at Brewer lake. I was told they had really caught a bunch over the weekend. I ended up catching 9 but they were small with the biggest one being about 7".
