    Default midway help

Thanks for the info last week on midway and horse shoe. But I was wondering if anyone could give me alittle more info on midway. I was told that river would be back into it soon, is this true and if so is it already back into it. Back when my buddy use to fish it the max depth waslike 4 to 5 feet is that still the same or is it much higher now. And how much is the water up on the banks past the brush or should I say into it. Any help would be great planning a two day trip fisrt week in april. Thanks..

The river gets into Midway at about 22'. Should be getting into it shorttly and looks like it will be there for awhile. Lake is pretty shallow overall, with just a few deep holes. Depth depends on how long its been since the river was in it--not much runoff into the lake.

Yep, looks like the river is already back in there. Depending on who you ask, the river gets in there somewhere between 22'-23' on the memphis gauge. Fishing on rising water may be productive. But don't waste your time fishing falling water out there. Here's the website I look at for the river level at memphis... http://ahps.srh.noaa.gov/ahps2/hydro...ew=1,1,1,1,1,1

Regardless of the water level (unless dead middle of summer and the lake is as low as summers past), there will be plenty of buckbrush to fish on the inside of the bend. Plenty of cypress in the water too. Lake is pretty much about 5' in the channel, but there's one little section of channel that gets to about 8' deep located on down the lake just before you get to the spread. Be sure to try the big and little kildee's as well as the boat docks in front of ed's.

I drove down to Midway Thursday, The lake is at pretty good pool, but it was awful muddy. If I were going to fish it today I would probably put a spider rig out around the spread, and see what happens, With the water so muddy Fishing the brush on the bends and in the shallows will be a lot of work that would probably go unrewarded.
    Don't rip er mouth,
