Welcome from LR. There's been some good fishing out at Gold creek this winter. Lots of big fish. Once spring gets here, the crappie at the Little Maumelle should start doing pretty good. I usually catch 'em there well into the summer as well. I've had a few unsuccessful trips to Lake Maumelle, but just haven't put the time into the lake. You might also want to try Peckerwood and Brewer if you have the time to drive. Good luck with the crappie, but I figure that you'll need even more luck with the pregnant wife...

i went to brewer last year and didnt catch an crappie but tore the catfish up in 2 to 4 ft of water,, that was fun on ultralight equip, brewer looks beautiful for crappie though, i might have to try it again, i do quite abit of bass fishin on maumelle, my wife caught a 2 1/2 to 3lb crappie on maumelle a couple of years ago, thats the only crappie weve caught there,,
I fished Old River a couple of days ago and caught a couple, but was so windy, I gave up. Didn't feel like fightin' the wind, and wasn't much being caught. A few weeksa go it was getting right, but cold shut em down for me.
I live really close to Bearskin, but I have no access to the lake, would love to try it out sometime, though
