J.T. i've also been in the 53 to 55 degree water south of the bridge been having better luck tight lining at about 15'. Seems to be effective for pulling out the larger males, 15+"'s. Using little tough guys, cutting off head of chartruese tube body. They hit like 3 lb. bass.
