    Default Rod tip question

I read today if you paint the end of the rod fluorescent green or orange you can see the bite better. Anyone heard of this? What's the opinions of the pros on this board?

No pro here but I like the the last two or three line guides painted white. Seems like the tip is always pointing away from me and it makes no difference if its painted or not. There's just more surface I can see on the backs of the guides and they are way more visible at night. That being said the only reason I paint them at all is so I can see the night bite on a stalk.

The BnM Richard Williams signature series Crappie Wizard rods have a chartreuse tip for that purpose. If you are slow trolling and have the chartreuse tip over the background of dark or glassy water you will see the bite in your tip section better.
