Thanks for the replys guys. Did anyone fish Horseshoe or Burnt Cane this weekend? If so, how did you do? Does anyone know for sure if the pumps are running at this time at Horseshoe and is so how long have they been running? How low would you say the water is at Horseshoe right now compared to what used to be considered full pool or normal? Also, is Burnt Cane still low or is it back to normal and how is the water clarity?

Again, thanks for your replys and looking forward to hearing from you.

We went saturday afternoon, despite all of the boat traffic we caught a bunch. They have finally opened the ramp at Carefree, which is a plus! Most fish were caught deeper than last weekend, but still manage to catch some nice crappie. NICE WEEKEND!!!!!!!

    Default horseshoe lake levels

I talked to local guy there on saturday and he said the water has come up approx 31'' since late last summer. It likes about 2 more foot being at normal summer pool. The pumps are running. Don't know how long, though.

Memphislab, what was your average fish size. Were you catching 8-10'' fish or bigger.

Burnt Cane is a bit higher than I like, and the farther you go, the muddier it gets due to the river backing up into it. Some fish are being caught, but the key is S-----L------O-------W fishing. It's hard for me to fish that slow. In a few weeks the water will clear, the level will go down, and the fishing should be great. Even though the lake is 9 miles long, it's narrow, and with anywhere from 25-100 boats there on the weekend, I get tired of being rocked all day long. Some folks really need to read up on the law.
